Supportive Housing Employment Collaborative SHEC
In 1996, several San Francisco social service agencies joined forces to ensure that their formerly homeless tenants connect with resources that are tailored to their special needs. These agencies share a missionto help the formerly homeless achieve long-term economic and personal stabilityand an understanding of how to help this population overcome multiple barriers to employment. The SHEC's purpose is to coordinate these agencies' resources by providing educational and vocational opportunities to more than 225 tenants each year.
